<p>Apple's decision to order Westpac Banking Corp. — an Australian bank and financial-services provider headquartered in Sydney — to disable a mobile banking feature that let customers make payments in chat apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger has caught the attention of the <a href="http://www.accc.gov.au/">Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)</a> over concerns it could be attempting to remove rivals to its own upcoming service, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.afr.com/technology/mobiles-and-tablets/apple/accc-to-question-apple-on-westpac-chat-app-payments-ban-20170630-gx200p" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Financial Review</em></a>.</p>

<p>In a note to clients — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.streetinsider.com/Analyst+Comments/KGIs+Kuo+Lists+10+Predictions+for+the+New+Apple+%28AAPL%29+iPhone/13065605.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">StreetInsider</a> — KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo lists his 10 predictions for the new Apple iPhone models coming this year. One of those forecasts is that Touch ID will completely disappear from OLED “iPhone 8s” (shown in a fanciful mock-up).</p>

<p>According to the latest market share survey from <a target="_blank" href="http://netmarkeshare.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">NetMarketShare</a>, the market share for both macOS and iOS was up last month.</p>

<p>Apple wants to make it easier for programmers to include animations in their apps. The company has been granted a patent (number 20170186211) for “automatic animation generation.”</p>

<p>The likelihood of Apple moving to OLED screens for the “iPhone 8” could force more smartphone companies in that direction and give OLED a 50% market share by 2020, according to a new report from the WitsView division of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.trendforce.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Trendforce.</a></p>

<p>Apple is reportedly considering a <a target="_blank" href="https://9to5mac.com/2017/07/03/apple-lg-oled-investment/" rel="noopener noreferrer">deal with LG</a> for OLED screens to help diversify the supply chain beyond the main supplier Samsung. The Cupertino, California-based company may invest $1.75 billion to $2.62B billion in LG’s new OLED production lines to keep those lines dedicated to iPhone screens.</p>

<p>Kanex’s $79.95 <a target="_blank" href="//www.kanex.com/applewatch-stand" rel="noopener noreferrer">GoPower Watch Stand</a> is, despite its name, a magnetic charging stand for both the Apple Watch AND the iPhone. It comes integrated with the same inductive charging connector that comes with Apple’s smartwatch and can charge both the 38mm and 42mm models. </p>

<p>Less than 24 hours after JAY-Z's 13th album, <em>4:44</em>, dropped as a midnight exclusive on Tidal/Sprint on June 30, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/7850197/hang-tight-jay-zs-444-will-be-released-physically-on-apple-music" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Billboard</em> has learne</a>d that the album will soon be available elsewhere, including the iTunes Store and Apple Music.</p>

<p>Another day, another lawsuit. <a target="_blank" href="http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/06/30/apple-watch-latest-target-in-unilocs-quickly-growing-legal-barrage-against-apple" rel="noopener noreferrer">AppleInsider r</a>eports that Uniloc, a “patent troll,” has filed suit — actually, suits — against Apple claiming, naturally, patent infringement.</p>

<p>To coincide with the 10th anniversary of the launch of iPhone, <a target="_blank" href="http://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.axway.com%2Fen%2F&esheet=51581124&newsitemid=20170627006318&lan=en-US&anchor=Axway&index=1&md5=162a2f2d3dd4cba6cd5de40831029695" rel="noopener noreferrer">Axway</a>, the company behind a cloud-enabled data integration and engagement platform, has released the results of a survey that examines the role that smartphones play in enhancing consumer lives with improved services and experiences, and how consumers would like to see the smartphone evolve in future. </p>

<p>Tenor, a mobile GIF sharing platform, has released results from a recent survey conducted online by Harris Poll1 among over 2,000 U.S. adults, revealing that <a target="_blank" href="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/389evddupz1z8bt/AABpp8qkAVzn56MBAZo6VYxFa?dl=0&preview=Visual+Expression+-+1.gif" rel="noopener noreferrer">7 in 10 Americans</a> (71%) use visual expression such as emojis, stickers or GIFs when texting or using mobile messaging apps<strong>. </strong></p>

<p>Future iOS and watchOS devices may alter your wake-up alarm depending on your sleep pattern. Apple has filed for a patent (number 9,692,874) for “adjusting alarms based on sleep onset latency.”</p>

<p>ESPforMe has launched its new iOS app. It functions like a search engine, albeit with an Ouija-style digital crystal ball. An in-app purchase converts the crystal ball into a brain computer interface that you can use to perform basic search and control the app. </p>

<p>Apple has introduced new ways customers can enjoy and support America’s national parks next month.</p>
