<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.alertsec.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">AlertSec</a>, a cloud-based encryption company, has announced results of a new cybersecurity survey revealing that laptops, though they usually contain more sensitive and personal data than smartphones, are less frequently encrypted than other mobile devices. </p>

<p>In a note to clients — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.macrumors.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumor</a>s — Wall Street analyst Brian White thinks Apple will become a trillion dollar company within 12 months as it’s one of the “most underappreciated stocks in the world.”</p>

<p>After Imagination Technology’s annual report accused Apple of making “unsubstantiated allegations,” the Cupertino, California-based company has responded.</p>

<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 20170195388) for “station creation” that involves allowing you to create your own music “stations” in Apple Music, the company’s music streaming service, and iTunes.</p>

It’s designed to change the way beginning players learn how to play guitar through hundreds of easy-to-follow, instructor-guided video lessons utilizing a song-driven, personalized learning path that enables even brand-new players to master chords and riffs in minutes, says Ethan Kaplan, general manager, Fender Digital.</p>

<p>C Spire has introduced C Spire TV, a new, in-home streaming TV service that eliminates the need for set-top boxes. It’s compatible with the Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV (Roku support is in the works).</p>

<p>Future Macs may “wake up” when they detect your presence and take action based on exactly where you are. Apple has filed for a patent (number 20170193282) for “presence sensing.”</p>

<p>Nikkei <a target="_blank" href="http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/AC/Apple-to-use-OLED-screens-in-all-new-iPhones-launching-in-2H18-sources" rel="noopener noreferrer">sources</a> suggest that Apple will use OLED screens in all 2018 iPhones. Those sources say that the tech giant has tentative plans to release three phone models next year and that all will feature OLED.</p>

<p>Apple will announce its 2017 third fiscal quarter earnings on Tuesday, Aug. 1, after the market closes. The earnings conference call will start after the market closes (about 2 p.m. Pacific Time).</p>
