<p>Apple has failed to get a putative class action claiming iPhone 4 users were duped into downloading a software update that made their devices buggy and unusable dismissed. <p>Ireland’s High Court on Wednesday rejected an appeal against Apple’s plans to build an 850 million euro (approximately $1 billion) data center in Ireland, clearing the way for the project to proceed, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-apple-ireland/irish-court-rejects-appeal-against-1-billion-apple-data-center-idUSKBN1D14FB?feedType=RSS&feedName=technologyNews&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reuters%2FtechnologyNews+%28Reuters+Technology+News%29" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Reuters</em></a>.</p>

<p>As noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/10/31/woolworths-australia-adds-rewards-card-to-apple-wallet-app" rel="noopener noreferrer">AppleInsider</a>, Australian grocer Woolworths this month became the first retailer in the country to link its rewards card with Apple Wallet, allowing customers to load and redeem points and discounts via the digital wallet system. </p>

<p>Apple has updated its Apple ID policy, so account holders can now use third-party email addresses as login credentials to switch to an Apple-provided email address. New customers have been sign up for an Apple ID for some time, using third-party email addresses like those from Google and Yahoo. </p>

<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,807,661) for “cellular service recovery using cell-specific service history.” The goal is to improve cell service on the iPhone and Apple Watch.</p>
