No, wait, there’s few (if any) production delays for the iPhone X

<p>Yesterday <a target="_blank" href="https://appleworld.dreamhosters.com/blog/2017/10/16/only-47000-iphone-xs-reportedly-produced-in-the-first-batch-from-foxconn" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>DigiTimes</em> </a>claimed that Apple manufacturer Foxconn has begun shipping iPhone X devices out of China, but the first batch “only” totals around 47,000. Foxconn has ramped up its iPhone X output from 100,000 to 400,000 per week, but supply still lags behind demand, the article adds. </p>

Apple considered a purchase of Crossover Health

<p>Apple was in talks for months to buy <a target="_blank" href="http://www.crossoverhealth.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Crossover Health</a>, but those talks fell through, claims <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/16/apple-considered-acquisition-of-crossover-health-part-of-health-push.html" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>CNBC</em></a>, quoting three “sources familiar with the matter.” The article says it’s not clear if Apple wanted to own and operate a network of health clinics, like its retail stores, or simply partner to sell products with a health-related angle, like the Apple Watch.</p>

Strategy Analytics: systems such as CarPlay are increasingly a ‘must-have’ feature in vehicle purchases

<p>A new report from the In-vehicle UX (IVX) group at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.strategyanalytics.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Strategy Analytics</a>, “Consumer Interest for In-Car Smartphone Mirroring is Almost Universal,” surveying consumers in the U.S., Western Europe and China, has found that an increasing number of consumers feel that smartphone mirroring systems such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Baidu CarLife will be a "must-have" when purchasing their next vehicle and moreover, are willing to pay for them at almost any reasonable price point.</p>

Analyst: iPhone X could provide “strongest iPhone product cycle”

<p>GBH Insights <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/16/this-series-of-new-iphones-will-be-apples-most-successful-ever-says-analyst-ives.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">analyst</a> Daniel Ives tells clients that he iPhone X could provide the “strongest iPhone product cycle to date.”  He says the upgrade cycle will push “well into fiscal year18” due to the device’s supply chain issues.</p>

Patent trollin’: VirnetX gets a win against Apple in patent dispute

<p>VirnetX Holding Company, an Internet security software and technology company (and, by most considerations, a “patent troll”), reports that on Sept. 29, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division, entered a final judgement regarding post-trial motions resulting from the prior $302.4 million jury verdict for the company in its ongoing patent infringement battle with Apple.</p>
