<p>There's some complaints that the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus aren't innovative. Not true. Just because they look pretty much the same as the iPhone 6 and 6s doesn't mean there aren't plenty of impressive under-the-hood improvements. </p>

<p>In a move that will certainly intensify the (debatable) theory that iOS devices will eventually replace Macs altogether, Apple's new iPad Pro shows the company is head to head with the full, notebook personal computer market with its latest offering, the iPad Pro.</p>

<p>The new Apple TV <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/pt44vmu" rel="noopener noreferrer">announced yesterday</a> has lots of intriguing improvements, but it lacks 4K or Ultra HD support. I think that's a mistake. </p>

<p>If you have speakers such as Moshi's Spatia that are designed to be used with Apple's AirPlay technology (which lets you wirelessly stream what’s on your iOS devices and Macs to an HDTV and speakers), here's how you connect them to a Mac.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/oavl5f7" rel="noopener noreferrer">Moshi's Spatia</a> is a wireless sound system designed to work with Apple's AirPlay technology. It sounds great — and looks almost as good as it sounds. </p>

<p>Mumford & Sons, Carrie Underwood and Ellie Goulding have been added to the line-up for the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.applemusicfestival.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">2015 Apple Music Festival</a> at London’s Roundhouse. They join Take That, One Direction (with Little Mix), the Weeknd, the Chemical Brothers, Disclosure (with NAO and Lion Babe), Pharrell Williams (with Leon Bridges), and Florence + The Machine. There will also be yet-to-be-named "special guests."</p>

<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,128,540) by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office for a "lens array for pattern projection and imaging." The patent, not the first such that Apple has filed, hints at Kinect-like features for future Macs.</p>

<p><span style="font-size:17px">Will the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which are almost certain to be unveiled at the </span><a href="http://tinyurl.com/nw8ftcq">Sept. 9 media event</a><span style="font-size:17px">, be faster at video loading? Independent research commissioned by </span><a target="_blank" href="http://www.owmobility.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Openwave Mobility</a><span style="font-size:17px"> has found that poor mobile video streaming is an even bigger headache than a dropped call for iPhone users. </span></p>

<p>If you need to hide certain data on your Mac from prying eyes while keeping other data easily accessible, <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/mcat8rg" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacPaw's Hider 2</a> for Mac OS X (10.8 and higher) makes this easy. Version 2 added a system wide menu and an interface tweaked for Mac OS X Mavericks.</p>

<p>In a report summary sent to <em>AppleWorld.Today</em>, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.udemy.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Udemy</a>, an online education marketplace, reports it has seen a "tremendous" increase in interest for web development courses after Apple’s iOS 9 beta release compared to its iOS 8 release last September. Of note:</p>

<p>Take this one with a big grain of salt, but <em>Auto Sina</em> — the auto news section of Sina.com, an online media company based in China — says Apple may appoint Ding Lei, former general manager of Shanghai General Motors and vice president of SAIC Motor, as the director of its vehicle production project in China. This will only accelerate <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/ohwlop2" rel="noopener noreferrer">the Apple Car rumors</a>, which continue to pick up speed.</p>

<p>In a <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/o9uyeq9" rel="noopener noreferrer">Seeking Alpha article</a>, analyst Mark Hibben ponders whether Apple might unveil VR goggles at its <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/nw8ftcq" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sept. 9 media event</a>. I'm 99.9% sure that's not going to happen. If/when that day comes I have some suggestions for Tim Cook & Company.</p>

<p><em>MacRumors.com</em>, basing its conclusion on "a few whispers and some research," says it "thinks" that Apple has bought a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.faceshift.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer">company called Faceshift</a>.</p>

<p style="margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px">"TV Everywhere" — the term for customers having access to content through Internet-connected devices such as iPads, iPhones, Macs, and Apple TVs — was up 63% in the last year, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://tinyurl.com/nt7o9ot" rel="noopener noreferrer">an Adobe study</a> of 159 billion online video starts. The study shows that Apple already dominates the business — and could dominate even more if/when the company introduces a TV streaming service.</p>
