<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Corning Inc. has introduced its latest breakthrough in glass technology, <a href="https://www.corning.com/gorillaglass/worldwide/en/glass-types/gorilla-glass-6.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Corning Gorilla Glass 6</a>, which the company says is its most durable cover glass to date. This makes it a prime candidate for use in future iPhones and perhaps iPads.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has released the third public betas of iOS 12 and tvOS 12. The public betas are available on <a href="https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple's Beta Software Program website</a>. Just remember that beta software, so proceed with care.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Macally has released the $69.99  <a href="http://macally.pr-optout.com/Tracking.aspx?Data=HHL%3d%3d%2f33%3f%26JDG%3c%3b5%3c435%3e%26SDG%3c90%3a.&RE=MC&RI=2904284&Preview=False&DistributionActionID=10217&Action=Follow+Link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CHARGER61</a>, a 61-watt aluminum charger with a magnetic USB-C cable specially designed for the 12-inch MacBook and 13/15-inch MacBook Pro with USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The data belonging to China-based iCloud users which includes emails and text messages, is now being stored by a division of China Telecom, the state-owned telco, reports <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/17/apples-icloud-user-data-in-china-is-now-handled-by-a-state-owned-mobile-operator/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>TechCrunch</em></a>.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Apple has been granted a patent (number 10,024,876) for “pedestrian velocity estimation.” It involves the tech that allows your Apple Watch to tell you how fast you’re moving.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Missing or lost the only copy of pictures and need to get 'em back? Then you need <a href="http://www.stellarphotorecoverysoftware.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery</a> for the Mac (macOS 10.12 and higher). It allows you to recover digital photos, audio and music files, movie or video clips, and other multimedia files.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Future iOS and perhaps macOS devices may allow you to control some user interface elements with your eyes. Apple has been granted (another) patent (number 10,025,380) with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office for “electronic devices with gaze detection.” One of the goals is to preserve battery life.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Feral Interactive has announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will launch on macOS with support for gamepads this summer.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">App Store and Google Play users spent a combined $34.4 billion on mobile apps and games in the first half of this year, according to Sensor Tower <a href="https://sensortower.com/solutions/store-intelligence" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Store Intelligence</a> estimates. This figure represents a year-over-year increase of 27.8% over the first half of 2017, when consumers spent a combined $26.9 billion on both stores.</p>

<p style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A former Apple employee, Xialang Zhang, accused of illegally downloading the tech giant's proprietary information related to self-driving cars (the rumored “Apple Car,” pictured in fanciful mock-ups) before taking a job with a Chinese self-driving car company pled not guilty in California federal court Monday to trade secret theft, according to <a href="https://www.law360.com/technology/articles/1063885/ex-apple-engineer-denies-stealing-self-driving-car-ip?nl_pk=ade0cf2b-ea3f-464b-bc93-d8e19277ac63&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=technology" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Law360</em></a>.</p>
