<p>Apple’s first quarter saw the iPhone maker move 52.2 million iPhones representing a modest 2.8% year-over-year increase from the 50.8 million units shipped last year, reports the <a href="http://www.idc.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">IDC research group</a>.</p>

<p>Apple has announced the financial results for its fiscal 2018 second quarter that ended March 31, 2018. The company posted quarterly revenue of $61.1 billion, an increase of 16% from the year-ago quarter, and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.73, up 30%. International sales accounted for 65% of the quarter’s revenue.</p>

<p>According to blogger John Gruber on his <a href="https://daringfireball.net/2018/04/scuttlebutt_regarding_ui_project" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Daring Fireball</em> site</a>, Apple's rumored “Project Marzipan,” which will deliver macOS support to iOS apps, will likely debut in 2019, not 2018. It had previously been speculated that it would be unveiled at this year’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference.</p>

<p>Another day, another lawsuit. No, make that two. As reported by <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/04/30/apple-hit-with-patent-suits-over-iphone-x-camera-ios-11-do-not-disturb-while-driving-feature" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em></a>, there’s a new pair of lawsuits against Apple claiming patent infringement on features related to the dual camera arrays in some iPhones, as well as smart device alerts. </p>

<p>Apple doesn't have to hand over the entire source code to iOS or watchOS, a California federal judge ruled Monday in Uniloc's patent suit against the tech giant, because the claims relate “solely” to a patent for a step counter, reports <a href="https://www.law360.com/technology/articles/1038927/apple-beats-uniloc-s-bid-to-view-entire-ios-source-code?nl_pk=ade0cf2b-ea3f-464b-bc93-d8e19277ac63&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=technology" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Law360</em></a>.</p>
