<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple’s AppleTV+ streaming service may be (just barely) arriving in the nick of time. A study from Digital TV Research has found that the gross number of global subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) customers increased by 139 million in 2018 to 508 million, up 38% annually, with net subs rising by 83 million in 2018 to reach 357 million, a rise of 31%.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">For the fifth year in a row, Apple has been named the country’s most relevant brand in <a href="https://www.prophet.com/relevantbrands-2019/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the annual Brand Relevance Index from Prophet.</a> It’s based on 50,000 consumers across the globe who were asked which brands were most relevant in their lives, and why. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Steve Dowling, who has headed Apple’s communications for the last five years, is leaving the tech giant, reports <a href="https://www.vox.com/recode/2019/9/18/20872738/steve-dowling-apple-vp-of-communications-departure" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>VOX</em></a><em>.</em></p>

Orrick has issued an order certifying a class of consumers against Apple in a <a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hbsslaw.com%2Fcases%2Fapplecare&esheet=52096961&newsitemid=20190917006184&lan=en-US&anchor=class-action+lawsuit&index=1&md5=66a5a5028ee9eea880b6a61839a26eda" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">class-action lawsuit</a> accusing the tech company of issuing refurbished replacement products to consumers under its AppleCare and AppleCare+ protection plans, despite promises of “new or equivalent to new” replacements, according to Hagens Berman.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has filed for a patent (number 10,419,595) that would make it easy to switch between Apple Watches or other wearable accessories.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Chad Feehan has departed Apple’s upcoming sci-fi drama series from Simon Kinberg and David Weil after a stint as showrunner, reports <a href="https://deadline.com/2019/09/simon-kinberg-david-weil-apple-series-showrunner-chad-feehan-exits-creators-step-up-involvement-1202736568/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Deadline</em></a>.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">In a note to clients — as noted by <a href="https://www.macrumors.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a> — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max models account for 55% of pre-orders so far. The iPhone 11, which is more budget friendly, accounts for 45% of pre-orders lower-priced iPhone 11 has comprised 45 percent of pre-orders. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Let the Apple Car rumors roll on. And let’s add some Apple Bot rumors to ‘em. Apple has been filed for a charging system patent (number 10,418,863) that offers the possibility of a robot charging a vehicle.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">On the back of a robust commercial refresh cycle for Windows PCs, the notebook market helped offset a decline in the tablet market in the second quarter of 2019, according to <a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.strategyanalytics.com%2Fstrategy-analytics%2Fhome&esheet=52095881&newsitemid=20190917005170&lan=en-US&anchor=Strategy+Analytics&index=1&md5=d95a9d0c296da410673de8a5cd4ee17a" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Strategy Analytics</a>. The research group says that Apple and Lenovo combined to take over a one-third share of this market.</p>

Apple and two music distribution companies (Orchard Enterprises and Cleopatra Records) with which it contracts were labeled as "modern tape pirates" in a copyright infringement lawsuit last week, reports <a href="//appleinsider.com/articles/19/09/16/apple-called-modern-tape-pirate-in-copyright-lawsuit)" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em>.</a></p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple plans to invest up to $1 billion in India as the tech giant plans to begin exporting “Made in India” iPhones globally, reports <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/apple-set-to-ring-in-1-billion-investment/articleshow/71159370.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Times of India</em></a>.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has awarded an additional $250 million from its Advanced Manufacturing Fund to Corning Inc., supplier of precision glass for the iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad. </p>
