<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple is teaming up with several companies for a “springtime savings” promo for Apple Pay. You can use the mobile payment service to get special offers when shopping on the web May 9-22.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">As noted by <a href="https://www.businessworld.ie/news/Apple-is-Ireland-s-largest-company-with-sales-of-119bn-572338.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Business World</em>,</a> The 2019 edition of The Irish Times Top 1,000 Companies has been released and Apple tops the list.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has previewed its newest retail location at the Carnegie Library on Mount Vernon Square. The company says this is its most extensive historic restoration project to date, restoring and revitalizing the Beaux-Arts style building once home to Washington, D.C.’s Central Public Library. </p>

Apple has filed for a patent (number 20190138102) for a “device, method, and graphical user interface for providing tactile feedback for operations performed in a user interface.”</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple is almost certainly working on its own augmented reality/virtual reality headset (usually dubbed “Apple Glasses” and expected in 2020). A new patent filing (number 20190139317) dubbed “synchronized, interactive augmented reality displays for multifunction devices’ adds fuel to the rumor.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">It’s probably too little, too late for the company in the long run, but Intel <a href="https://newsroom.intel.com/news/2019-intel-investor-meeting/#gs.a7tj2c" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">has told its investors</a> that it’s ready to ship 10-nanometer “Ice Lake” mobile CPUs next month, after three years of delays for the company’s 10nm fabrication. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">There may be a better-than-average chance that Apple will not just introduce a new computer display at next month’s Worldwide Developer Conference, but ship it, as well.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">If you need quick access to your contacts in macOS, one solution is <a href="http://www.tropic4.com/iaddressx.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iAddressX</a> from Tropical Software, even though it’s getting a bit long in the tooth. <p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The latest research from Strategy Analytics (<a href="http://www.strategyanalytics.com"><span style="text-decoration:underline">www.strategyanalytics.com</span></a>) shows that fierce price competition has put incredible pressure on many Android tablet vendors, but a few companies, such as Apple, stood above the rest in quarter one [Q1] of 2019. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has finalized a short list of locations for its first retail store in India, reports <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-05-08/apple-preps-push-in-india-with-short-list-for-first-retail-store" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Bloomberg</em></a>, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the plans.” The article adds that the tech giant has narrowed its list down to several upscale sites in Mumbai, and plans to make a final decision in the next few weeks.</p>
