News round-up: Tax changes will affect Apple App Store prices in Japan (and more)

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">In a note on its Developer Portal, <a href="https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=09232019a" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple says</a> that starting in October, the Japan Consumption Tax (JCT) will increase from 8% to 10%, resulting in a price increase for apps on the App Store and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) in Japan. </p>

Apple says fix coming ‘soon’ for third-party keyboard apps issue

Say it ain’t so: Apple patent is for an even thinner keyboard

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">With the hubbub and lawsuits over alleged failures in Apple’s butterfly keyboard on various Mac laptops, you’d think Apple might maker thicker keyboards for its laptops. However, the company has been granted a patent (number 10,424,446) for “keyboard assemblies having reduced thickness” and a method of making them.</p>

Apple exceeds (again) in the ACSI Appliance and Electronics Report

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple does well (as usual) in the <a href="http://www.theacsi.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">American Customer Satisfaction Index</a>'s 2019 Appliance and Electronics Report. Upcoming modular Mac Pro will be made in Texas

The article adds that, for the first time, some e-commerce operators have joined telecom operators and consumer electronics distributors to promote Apple smartphones.</p>
