Feds oppose retroactive European tax bill filed against Apple

<p>A report from <em>Reuters</em> claims that <a target="_blank" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-eu-apple-tax-idUSKBN19P220" rel="noopener noreferrer">two sources</a> within the Trump administration have filed with the European Union General Court to opposition the $14.8 billion mandate by the European Commission against Apple. One of the two sources claims the appeals court will heard the case in late 2018.</p>

ACCC to question Apple regarding its ban on the Westpac Keyboard feature

<p>Apple's decision to order Westpac Banking Corp. — an Australian bank and financial-services provider headquartered in Sydney — to disable a mobile banking feature that let customers make payments in chat apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger has caught the attention of the <a href="http://www.accc.gov.au/">Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)</a> over concerns it could be attempting to remove rivals to its own upcoming service, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.afr.com/technology/mobiles-and-tablets/apple/accc-to-question-apple-on-westpac-chat-app-payments-ban-20170630-gx200p" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Financial Review</em></a>.</p>

Analyst: Apple may completely ditch Touch ID, at least on some new iPhones

Rumor: Apple may make a deal with LG for OLED iPhone screens

<p>Apple is reportedly considering a <a target="_blank" href="https://9to5mac.com/2017/07/03/apple-lg-oled-investment/" rel="noopener noreferrer">deal with LG</a> for OLED screens to help diversify the supply chain beyond the main supplier Samsung. The Cupertino, California-based company may invest $1.75 billion to $2.62B billion in LG’s new OLED production lines to keep those lines dedicated to iPhone screens.</p>

Patent trollin’: Uniloc keeps those lawsuits coming
