<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">On a regular basis, <em>Apple World Today </em>posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they're popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">In a note to clients — as noted by <a href="http://MacRumors.com"><span style="text-decoration:underline">MacRumors.com</span></a> — Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis predicts the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will likely have 6GB of RAM, up from 4GB in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. They also expect both models to feature rear-facing 3D sensing and mmWave support for higher-performance 5G. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple says it's added more than 20 new magazines to Apple News+, its $9.99/month service. Publications added include<em> Empire, WSJ Magazine, EVO, Robb Report,</em> and more.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The <em>Washington Post</em> (a subscription is required to read the entire article) says it’s looked into iOS chat and social networking app reviews and discovered more than 1,500 reports of unwanted sexual behavior, some of it directed against children.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Sales of Apple’s AirPods are projected to double to 60 million in 2019, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-11-22/apple-airpods-shipments-are-said-to-double-to-60-million-in-2019">according to <em>Bloomberg</em></a>. The article adds that this has been driven in part by “much higher” than expected demand for the AirPods Pro model unveiled last month</p>

All need charging, which means a plethora of charging accessories all over the place</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has filed for a patent (number 20190354546) for “generation and presentation of an overview of an electronic magazine issue.” The tech giant seems to be looking to make electronic magazines even more appealing in its Apple News+ service.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">A few Apple Stores in the U.S. and Canada are piloting a new program that allows customers to purchase <a href="https://www.apple.com/support/products/">AppleCare+</a> for devices beyond the usual limit of 60 days after the purchase date, according to <a href="https://www.macrumors.com">MacRumors</a>.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;"><a href="https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2649392-1&h=749463317&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goabode.com%2F&a=abode+systems">abode systems</a>, which specializes in do-it-yourself smart home security, says Apple HomeKit compatibility is now live for its iota all-in-one smart home security solution.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Smart shoes, perhaps? Apple has filed for a patent (number 20190350306) that will allow shoes to tell you when they need replacing.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple and Intel have filed an antitrust lawsuit against Fortress Investment Group, a company backed by SoftBank, <a href="https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-intel-softbank-group/apple-intel-file-antitrust-case-against-softbank-owned-firm-over-patent-practices-idUKKBN1XV0AG" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reports Reuters</a>. The tech giants claim the group stockpiled patents to hold up tech firms with lawsuits demanding as much as $5.1 billion.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">According to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-11-21/apple-ios-14-features-changes-testing-after-ios-13-bugs" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Bloomberg</a>'s Mark Gurman, Apple is overhauling how it tests software prior to release after several glitches were found in iOS 13.</p>
