Attendance at Apple’s Vision Pro in-person developer labs in the US reportedly is underwhelming

In an announcement on its developer website, Apple says that its Vision Pro developer labs have expanded to New York City and Sydney.

According to a tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, attendance at Apple’s Vision Pro in-person developer labs have been underwhelming.

From the tweet: Hearing so far that the Vision Pro developer labs (to test apps on actual hardware) have been under-filled with small amounts of developers. Some developers emphasizing that the company isn’t offering any east coast sessions, with Cupertino the only option for the entire US.

The developer labs are designed to allow developers to test and optimize their apps on visionOS. Apple experts are available to help with setup and troubleshooting. Outside the US, the Vision Pro developer labs are available in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.

The US$3,499 (and higher) Vision Pro was previewed at June’s Worldwide Developer Conference. The “Spatial Computer” will go on sale in early 2024, although apparently only in limited supplies at first.
