Apple nabs exclusive first access rights to doc on the Roland TR-808

CNET reports that Apple has secured exclusive first access rights to “808,” a documentary film that explores the birth, popularity and influence of the Roland TR-808.

It’s narrated by Apple Music’s own Beats 1 DJ, Zane Lowe, and features a variety of interviews with the likes of Pharrell, Questlove, Rick Rubin, Afrika Bambaataa, David Guetta and more. The doc originally premiered at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival. Those who subscribe to Apple Music can watch it now. It will be available Dec. 19 to rent or download from iTunes.
