Apple’s Tap to Pay launches in Italy allowing contactless payments

Chase Payment Solutions has announced the expansion of Tap to Pay on iPhone for its merchant clients in Canada. 

Apple has announced that businesses in Italy can now accept contactless payments in person with Tap to Pay on iPhone. 

This new feature will merchants, from small businesses to large retailers, to accept payments via contactless credit, debit and prepaid cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets simply with an iPhone, without the need for other hardware devices or payment terminals.

Tap to Pay on iPhone is available to those who provide platforms and develop payment apps in Italy, which will be able to integrate it into their iOS solutions by making it available to merchants of their customers. Adyen, myPOS, Nexi, Revolut, Stripe, SumUp and Viva are the first payment platforms to offer Tap to Pay on iPhone to Italian merchants their customers, and will soon also be available with Fabrick, Numia, and Sella. As of today, Tap to Pay on iPhone is also available in all Italian Apple Stores.
