Apple’s stock hits a record $500 per share

On Aug. 19, Apple became the he first U.S. company to reach US$2 trillion in value. Now the tech giant’s stock has hit US$500 per share — a new record.

In July, Apple share prices hit $400 per share, a milestone. And in January, stock hi $300, a company record at the time. The $500 market won’t last, however, as a four-for-one stock split will take place at the close of trading on Friday, which will lower Apple’s share price to about $125 (though the company’s overall market value won’t change).
