Apple’s new “spaceship” headquarters in Cupertino, California, won’t open until 2017, according to a construction update. Street and building work was originally meant to be wrapped up in the third quarter of 2016.
The spaceship campus has an estimated cost of $5 billion (though I’ll bet that the final cost is WAY more than that). The new campus, which will supplement and not replace Apple’s current headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop, was a pet project of the late Steve Jobs. It’s a four-story, 2.8 million square foot building to be built on land formerly occupied by Hewlett Packard’s campus.
