Apple’s price cut on the Apple Watch spurred daily sales up 250% sequentially

Apple’s price cut on the Apple Watch in April helped average daily sales rise 250% sequentially, according to new data from Slice Intelligence — as reported by the Market Realist.

The entry price of the 38-millimeter Apple Watch was reduced from $349 to $299. The IDC research group predicts that Apple’s smartwatch will have a 49.4% share of the smartwatch segment this year, with estimated sales of 14 million units. The Apple Watch accounted for 63% of total smartwatch shipments in 2015. IDC expects the Apple Watch to account for 37.6% of smartwatch sales in 2020, with 31 million units.
