As noted by MacRumors, Apple is planning a new Apple Watch activity challenge for Wednesday, June 5, and is designed to tie in with Global Running Day.

To complete the challenge, Apple Watch owners will need to record a running workout of at least five kilometers on June 5.

“Hit the road, trail, track, or tread for Global Running Day!” Apple encourages. “Record a running workout and go at least 5 km on June 5 to earn this special badge.”

Those who complete the challenge will unlock a dedicated badge in the Fitness app along with animated stickers that can be used in the Messages and FaceTime apps.

Global Running Day is a day that celebrates the sport of running. It is held annually on the first Wednesday of June.[1] Participants of all ages and abilities pledge to take part in some type of running activity by submitting their names through the Global Running Day website. Global Running Day 2023 will take place on June 7.
