Apple will unveil an updated 24-inch iMac with an M3 chip, redesigned stand

Next week’s “Scary Fast” event will indeed see a revamp of the 24-inch iMac with an M3 processor, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

“Apple has been planning an M3 iMac for a while, with the machine going into production months ago,” he tweets. “No other major changes other than the chip, but the stand’s internal design has been tweaked. I’d expect colors to remain similar.”

Hmmm. I wonder what the internal design tweak might entail. Guess we’ll find out on Monday.

Apple will hold a prerecorded event dubbed “Scary Fast” on Monday, October 30, at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Apple’s Events website features an Apple logo on a black background that morphs into the Mac Finder icon, confirming the event’s Mac focus. Since it’s going to be an online event instead of just press releases, the Sellers Research Group predicts the following will be announced:

° Updated 24-inch iMacs with M3 processors.

° An updated Mac mini, MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro with the same.

° And (I’m going waaaay out on a limb here) and predicting 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.

I don’t expect an updated Mac Studio or Mac Pro to be unveiled. Also, I don’t foresee Apple announcing a 27-inch or 32-inch iMac Pro at this time. However, I’d love to be proven wrong.
