Apple Watch Series 7 may have a ‘boxy’ design, bigger speaker grilles

According to 91mobiles, CAD-based renders hint that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have a boxy design and bigger speaker grilles. The article says that it seems Apple “is overhauling the design, doing away with the rounded edges for a flat-edged design.”

“The watch will have a silicone strap and it should be replaceable with a variety of options after launch,” according to 91mobiles (read the article for more details). “ The button placement doesn’t seem to have changed as we have the Digital Crown for navigation, a microphone, and a flat selection button on the right side of the frame. The left side sees two rather large slits for speakers.”

Other rumored features include:

° It will pack a smaller “S7” chip that would leave more room for a larger battery or other components.

° it be offered in a green hue.

° It will (d’uh) sport a faster processor.

° It will sport a “new lamination technique” that raises the watch’s display closer to the top cover.

° It will borrow updated ultra-wideband technology from the Apple AirTag key finder.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to debut next month and go on sale in September or October.
