Apple Vision Pro raises interest for all extended reality technology

Apple’s Vision Pro is expected to help expand the extended reality sector and generate greater consumer interest in the technology, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Rokid chief executive Misa Zhu Mingming told the publication that there are already software developers making apps for its augmented reality glasses and Apple’s spatial computer. (Rokid is a Chinese technology start-up).

Mingming says the Vision Pro will help the whole extended reality (XR) sector grow and generate greater consumer interest, while expanding the development of relevant software and content.

“We’re very happy that Apple got into the industry,” Zhu told the SCMP, referring to XR – also the catch-all term for AR, VR and MR technologies. “This [initiative] will mobilize the whole developer ecosystem.”
