Apple TV+’s ‘The Morning Show’ adds two to its cast

Greta Lee (Russian Doll, High Maintenance) and Ruairi O’Connor (The Spanish Princess, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) have joined the upcoming Season 2 of Apple’s The Morning Show, reports Deadline

Lee will play Stella Bak, an ambitious leader of an online media company that caters to a millennial and Gen Z audience. O’Connor will star as Ty Fitzgerald, a charismatic and savvy YouTube star.

Season two of The Morning Show is slated to resume production on Oct. 19. Of course, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this could change.

The Morning Show is described as “an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women and men who carry out this daily televised ritual.” In addition to Carrell, the returning case of the show includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carrell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman and Desean Terry.

The Morning Show earned Apple its first Primetime Emmy Award for Crudup in the supporting actor in a drama series category. The Morning Show received eight Emmy nominations overall, along with three Golden Globe Award nominations. The series also landed a SAG Award for for Aniston and a Critics’ Choice Award for Crudup, along with a Television Critics Association nomination for Outstanding New Program. Globally, the series has been nominated for a TV Choice Award for Best New Drama
