Apple has agreed to lease a 128,000 square-foot building in Culver City, California, according to The Real Deal. Terms haven’t been disclosed.
HBO was set to be the sole tenant leasing at the site (8777 Washington Boulevard), but those plans fell through, the article adds. The four-story complex will include office space, as well as 4,500 square feet of ground-level retail.
The Real Deal previously reported that Apple was in talks to lease Hackman Capital Partners’ 85,000-square-foot campus at 5500 Jefferson Boulevard near Culver City. Combined, that amounts to roughly 213,000 square feet of creative office space in the neighborhood.
Apple currently has six scripted series in the works. The Cupertino, California-based company has set a budget of roughly $1 billion to procure and produce original content over the next year, according to the Wall Street Journal, and could acquire and produce as many as 10 television shows.
