Apple supplier Foxconn considers a $10 billion U.S. investment

Apple supplier Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn Technology Group, plans to invest $10 billion across the U.S. states starting with a $7 billion display-making plant.

The company will decide the plant’s location next month. Bloomberg reports that Michigan and Wisconsin are currently the frontrunners. CEO Terry Gou listed five other states as potentials for Foxconn’s investments: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas.

Foxconn is Apple’s main manufacturing partner and expanding into the U.S. could create thousands of jobs and good press for both the company and President Trump’s administration since job growth was a key campaign promise, notes Seeking Alpha.
