Apple scoops up ‘See’ world-building drama

According to Deadline, Apple has landed the TV package, See with a straight-to-series order. A world-building drama set in the future, the project is written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2).

It comes from the recently launched scripted drama venture between Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. The size of the order is still still to be announced, but likely will consist of eight episodes.

This is the fourth scripted series order for Apple’s entertainment/ video programming division under Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg. The Cupertino, California-based company has set a budget of roughly $1 billion to procure and produce original content over the next year, according to the Wall Street Journal, and could acquire and produce as many as 10 television shows.
