Apple rumored to apply new LTPO OLED tech to the Apple Watch X

An upcoming Apple Watch (the Apple Watch X?) may use resin-coated copper.

Apple plans to apply new LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) OLED technology to the Apple Watch X, according to The Elec.

This would allow very precise control of the amount of light that passes through each of the smartwatch’s panels. This should result in overall power savings increases.

In an August 2023 edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that 2024 or 2025 will see Apple launch the “Apple Watch X,” the biggest redesign of its smartwatch ever.

The launch of the smartwatch will come in time for the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch. Gurman says Apple is trying to make the Watch X thinner than previous model. He adds that it could also include a new magnetic attachment system for attaching and swapping bands.
