Apple plans its first R&D facility in China

Apple CEO Tim Cook says Apple plans to build its first Asia-Pacific research and development center in China, reports Reuters.

Apple’s new research and development center will be built by the end of 2016, Apple’s head honcho told Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, one of China’s most senior officials. This comes after the head of China’s industry and technology regulator told Cook in May that he hoped Apple could deepen its cooperation with the country in research and development and stressed information security, notes Reuters.
