Apple places second on Best Managed Companies in America list

Apple places second on Drucker Institute’s Best Managed Companies in America, a model that ranks Fortune 500, S&P 500 and other large-cap companies according to their overall effectiveness.

The list ranks corporate performance on five dimensions: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength. On a 100-point scale, Apple scored 64.2, 61.8, 90.9, 61.5, and 99.5, respectively, for a “effectiveness” score of 89.4. It was topped only by Amazon, which had an effectiveness score of 89.

The Drucker Institute is a social enterprise based at Claremont [California] Graduate University whose mission is “strengthening organizations to strengthen society.”
