Apple Pay arrives in Japan

Apple Pay has launched in Japan, making its the 11th country to support Apple’s mobile payment service. In addition to Suica cards, Apple is also supporting credit and debit cards from the likes of American Express, JCB, MasterCard, Aeon, Orico, Credit Saison, SoftBank, d Card, View Card, and MUFG Card.

Apple Pay is available in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, France and Hong Kong. Brazil also expected to add Apple Pay support in the near future.

Apple Pay works with the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE and Apple Watch. When paying within apps, Apple Pay is compatible with the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro. It’s also macOS Sierra compatible.
