Apple Pay adds 66 more financial institutions, has big plans for 2016

It’s getting to the point that it’s hard to find a credit union or bank in the United States that doesn’t support Apple Pay. Apple added 66 more institutions to the list today, from American Community Bank of Indiana to Wilson Bank & Trust. The full list is here, and be assured that if your financial institution isn’t on it, Apple is probably working on getting your bank or credit union lined up soon.

In 2016, you’ll be seeing a lot more places to use the touchless payment system. Starbucks will finally add support for paying by iPhone or Watch, as will KFC and Chili’s. There are rumors that Apple Pay may add a peer-to-peer payment feature so you can send money with a tap, and you’ll even be able to use reward cards through Apple Pay. Walgreens has already added this capability, Dunkin’ Donuts and Panera Bread will apparently be joining the reward fun soon.
