Apple may have canceled its plans for an Apple Car, but the tech giant continues to file for, and be granted, patents involving vehicles. The latest is patent filing number (US 20240198945 A1) for “Object Detection.”
About the patent filing
The patent filing involves a restraint system (think seat belts) for a vehicle that can receive input from infrared cameras both inside and outside the car. The cameras could detect objects on the road, loose objects in a car, or cases where the restraint system is being misused (if you have kids or grandkids, you can appreciate the latter) and respond accordingly..
