Apple has reportedly finalized a deal with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT functionality into iOS 18 and other operating systems, according to The Information.

The two companies have reportedly been finalizing terms for a pact to use ChatGPT features for some time. OpenAI is a U.S. based AI research organization founded in December 2015, researching artificial intelligence with the goal of developing “safe and beneficial” artificial general intelligence, which it defines as “highly autonomous systems that outperform humans at most economically valuable work.”

Apple is expected to unveil its artificial intelligence plans at the upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference. WWDC 2024 kicks off on Monday, June 10.
