Apple may offer discounted bundles with its own video streaming service

When Apple unveils its video streaming service at Monday’s “It’s Show Time” event, what may differentiate it from other services is that it could offer people bundles of on-demand streaming services for one discounted price—just as cable TV has long packaged groups of traditional TV channels, reports The Information.

The article — quoting “several people familiar with the situation” — says that Apple has negotiated the right to bundle streaming services in its deals with media firms. As The Information notes, at a time when consumers are complaining of feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of individual services, selling a group of services for one price could be appealing.

As for its own content offerings, Apple has 30 original TV shows in various stages of production. The “It’s Show Time” will be held on Monday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
