Apple makes Best Places to Work list for ninth consecutive year

Glassdoor, the world’s most transparent jobs and recruiting marketplace, has announced the winners of its ninth annual Employees’ Choice Awards, honoring the Best Places to Work in 2017 across North America and parts of Europe. Apple places 36 on the list.

The Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards are based solely on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback, by completing a company review, about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.

This year, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards feature six distinct categories, honoring the Best Places to Work across the U.S., Canada, UK, France and Germany. There are two categories in the U.S.: 50 Best Places to Work (honoring employers with 1,000 or more employees) and 50 Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For (honoring employers with less than 1,000 employees). Winners are ranked based on their overall rating achieved during the past year. Ratings are based on a 5-point scale: 1.0=very dissatisfied, 3.0=OK, 5.0=very satisfied):

According to Glassdoor, the top five Best Places to Work in 2017 are: Bain & Company (4.6 rating); Facebook (4.5 rating); Boston Consulting Group (4.4 rating); Google (4.4 rating); and World Wide Technology (4.4 rating).

Glassdoor’s 50 Best Places to Work in 2017 list features winning employers across diverse industries spanning technology, consulting, travel and tourism, consumer goods, retail, food services and more. Bain & Company is the first company to rank No. 1 three times (2017, 2014 and 2012), and is among only three employers that have made this list for nine consecutive years. The other two employers include Google (No. 4, 4.4 rating) and Apple (No. 36, 4.2 rating).
