Apple looking to lease large office complex in Seattle, Washington

Apple is looking to lease a humongous office complex in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal

The two-tower development would give Apple enough space for 4,200 employees using the industry standard of 150 square feet per employee, the article adds. South Lake Union (referred to as “SLU”) is located at the southern tip of Lake Union. Due to development plans by Paul Allen’s Vulcan Inc., as well as other prominent developers, South Lake Union is becoming a hub for life science organizations.

In 2017, it was reported that the tech giant planned to “significantly expand” its engineering operations in Seattle. And in 2018 Apple announced plans to establish new sites in Seattle, San Diego and Culver City and expand in cities across the United States including Pittsburgh, New York and Boulder, Colorado over the next three years, with the potential for additional expansion elsewhere in the US over time.
