Apple launches free repair program for certain iPhone 7s

Apple is launching a free repair program to address a component failure afflicting a “small percentage” of iPhone 7 devices. The glitch makes it appear the phone isn’t connected to cellular networks even when service is available.

Apple said it would repair affected devices at no charge. It’s the fourth official iPhone repair program since 2015. The phones in question were sold from September 2016 to February 2018 in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau and the U.S.
