‘Apple Glasses’ may utilize wireless charging

Apple’s rumored “Apple Glasses” may utilize wireless charging per a new patent filing (number 20200081490) by the tech giant.

Such a device will arrive this year, next year, or 2021, depending on which rumor you believe. It may or may not have to be tethered to an iPhone to work. Other rumors say that Apple Glasses could have a custom-build Apple chip and a dedicated operating system dubbed “rOS” for “reality operating system.”

Apple’s patent filing involves a head-mounted display system that includes a display unit, a head support, a power storage device, and one or more receiving coils. The head support is coupled to the display unit and configured to engage a head of a user for supporting the display unit thereon.

The power storage device is coupled to the display unit for storing power to be supplied to the display unit. The one or more receiving coils are coupled to the head support for inductively charging the power storage device.
