Apple exec named to committee to help Joe Biden select a running mate

Joe Biden has tapped a group of legal experts (including one from Apple) and political allies to oversee his search for a running mate, in his latest move to prepare for a potential future administration, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The vice presidential selection process will be led by former Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Cynthia Hogan, Biden’s former White House and Senate counsel who is a top executive with Apple.

The tech company hired Hogan in April 2016 as its vice president for public policy and government affairs for the Americas, While this position oversees the company’s operations in Canada and Latin America, its primary purpose is as a lobbyist for Apple. Hogan is no stranger to DC, working with the NFL and working as a top aide to Biden when he was vice president.
