Apple Daily Report: the 2018 6.1-inch iPhone may be offered in a variety of colors (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

The anticipated 6.1-inch LCD iPhone may come in white, black, taupe, gold, “flash yellow,” “bright orange,” and “electronic [sic] blue” colors, according to a new rumor. And Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty hints that the phone may not go on sale until October. 

Apple has signed up Emmy winner Alfre Woodard for its upcoming drama series See that also stars Jason “Aquaman” Momoa. Her character, Paris, is a “priestess and adviser.” See is an “epic, world-building drama set in the future.”

New research from CIRP’s research finds that the iPhone 8 Plus was the top-selling iPhone model during the second quarter of 2018 in the U.S., accounting for 24% of sales. The iPhone X accounted for 17%, while the iPhone 8 had 13%. When it comes to the iPad, the 2017/2018 9.7-inch iPad priced at $329 accounted for 31% of sales, while the iPad Pro models combined for 40%, split relatively among the 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch models. The iPad mini 4 tallied 18% of sales.

Apple has posted a new iPhone X ad on its YouTube channel that promotes the capabilities of the A11 Bionic chip built into the device.



Apple is holding an Activity Challenge exclusive to China in celebration of the country’s “National Fitness Day.”July 23-28.
