Apple Daily Report for June 16, 2017

My Apple World Today compadre, Steve, is dealing with some family matters, so the usual AWT News Update (and podcast) won’t appear today. In its place, I’ll offer a text-only (no podcast) summary of breaking stories with a tip o’ my hat to my former website, Apple Daily Report.

A special Lose your wallet page advertising a San Francisco promotion in which participants can use Apple Pay to get exclusive offers in Hayes Valley and the Marina . The offers run from June 23 to June 25, and will only be available to in-store customers using Apple’s mobile payment service for the transaction.

Charitybuzz has launched an auction in which the winning bidder will have lunch with Apple’s services chief Eddy Cue at the company’s newly constructed Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California. 

While there remain some industry observers that cling to rapidly diminishing arguments against such deployment, “Apple devices are already pervasive in the enterprise,” Mahmoud Naghshineh, General Manager, Offerings and Solutions, IBM, tells Computerworld.

A Microsoft exec claims that the iPad Pro is a “clear example” of Apple following Microsoft.”
