Apple Daily Report for February 16, 2018

The AWT News Update is on hiatus as my compadre, Steve, is down with a stomach bug. In its place, I’ll offer a text-only (no podcast) summary of breaking stories with a tip o’ my hat to my former website, Apple Daily Report.

Subaru has announced pricing for the the 2019 Ascent, which will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, when it rolls out this summer. The SUV’s price tag will start at $31,995.

When one woman and her 9-month-old-baby were hit by a drunk driver, she couldn’t get to her phone to call 911—but she was able to use her Apple Watch.

Apple hasn’t dates dates for the 2018 Worldwide Developers Conference, but there’s evidence the event may take place between Monday, June 4, and Friday, June 8, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Apple has added a new page — dubbed “Close Your Rings” — to their website promoting Apple Watch’s activity tracking features. It offers such a “simple and fun way to live a healthier day that you’ll want to do it all the time.”

Belkin’s InvisiGlass Ultra protector for the iPhone X is available again via Apple, following a December recall due to quality problems.
