Apple Daily Report: Apple could sell 220 million in iPhones in next fiscal year (and more news)

In a note to clients — as noted by 9to5Mac, GBH Insights suggests that Apple could sell more than the 220 million iPhones in the next financial year, which begins in October. The research group says the “window of opportunity” for upgrades over the next 12-18 months could be as high as 350 million Apple smartphones.

Facebook has pulled its VPN service Onavo Protect from the Apple App Store after Apple found the app in violation of newly implemented privacy policies.



Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC will probably remain Apple’s contract chipmaker next year, as the exclusive supplier of “A13” chips for 2019 iPhones, according to industry analysts cited in a report by the EE Times.

Three months after Apple landed for development a TV series based on Foundation, the seminal Isaac Asimov science fiction novel trilogy, the project has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order.

Top business leaders across the U.S. have come together to express concern about the country’s current immigration policies. The CEO members of the Business Roundtable, including Tim Cook, Ginni Rometty, Jamie Dimon, and Indra Nooyi, sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen Thursday outlining their concerns and highlighting how such issues are negatively impacting the economy.
