Apple Daily Report: 2019 Fiat 500X will support Apple’s CarPlay (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out. 

The new 2019 Fiat 500X will debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Advanced technology includes: standard Uconnect 4 with 7-inch touchscreen radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; navigation; Bluetooth hands-free calling, voice command and streaming audio; and SiriusXM Radio.

Kering, whose brands include Gucci and Saint Laurent, said it was working on a suite of new apps in partnership with Apple to be used by staff at its stores, and would have more control over e-commerce activities run with Yoox Net A Porter., according to Reuters.

Four days before a summit with China’s leader, President Trump said he expects to move ahead with boosting tariff levels on $200 billion of Chinese goods to 25%, calling it “highly unlikely” that he would accept Beijing’s request to hold off on the increase, according to The Wall Street Journal. That could place a 10% tariff on smartphones and laptops such as the iPhone and MacBook imported fromChina.

T-Mobile is offering free iPads and Apple Watches to new customers this Cyber Monday.

DigiTimes claims that Apple supplier TSMC will post post a 14-15% drop in revenue in the first quarter of 2019 due to a cut back in chip orders for new iPhones.
