Apple CEO Tim Cook named to President Trump’s new advisory board

According to MarketWatch, Apple CEO Tim Cook is among 50 execs from various industries, as well as other leaders, appointed to President Trump’s new advisory board.

Trump says he will consult the panel of advisers, whom Trump said he will consult by phone — dubbed the Great American Economic Revival Industry Group —is tasked with helping shape plans to revive the U.S.’s COVID-19 impacted economy. It will operate separately from the White House task force that’s leading the administration’s public health strategy to contain and mitigate the pandemic, though there is expected to be some overlap, according to MarketWatch.

“I’m confident that these respected people … will give us some great ideas in addition to what the governors have learned,” Trump said.
