Apple, Bharti Airtel execs to discuss iPhone 5G network support for the telco’s 5G network

Senior executives from Apple and Bharti Airtel will meet this week to discuss a rollout timeline for software updates to 5G-capable iPhones so that they support the Indian telco’s 5G network, reports ET Telecom.

The meeting will determine the reasons for the delay and by when Apple can push out the updates for iPhones users to enjoy 5G services of India’s second largest telco, the article adds. People close to Apple confirmed that the US smartphone major is extensively test ing its 5G iPhones on both Airtel and Reliance Jio’s 5G networks, adds ET Telecom.

Bharti Airtel, headquartered in New India, is a provider of ICT services with a global network across the U.S, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, India, and SAARC regions. Airtel Telecommunications ranks among the top three mobile service providers worldwide for the number of subscribers.

Reliance Jio is an Indian telecommunications company and a subsidiary of Jio Platforms, headquartered in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It operates a national LTE network with coverage across all 22 telecom circles.
