Analysts: ‘Batterygate’ could cost Apple $10.29 billion

Barclay analysts think the “Batterygate” brouhaha could cost Apple $10.29 billion, according to Business Insider. They think the fiasco would result in as many as 16 million lost smartphone sales by the tech giant.

“While this is a good PR move for Apple to resolve the issue, we are concerned it could be a mild headwind for iPhone unit sales if more iPhone users decide to take the offer instead of upgrading to a new iPhone,” says analyst Mark Moskowitz.
