Analyst: iPhone X could provide “strongest iPhone product cycle”

GBH Insights analyst Daniel Ives tells clients that he iPhone X could provide the “strongest iPhone product cycle to date.”  He says the upgrade cycle will push “well into fiscal year18” due to the device’s supply chain issues.

However, the delay will still result in a “super cycle upgrade” that’s a “major growth catalyst” for the next year, according to Ives. The analyst forecasts that Apple will sell 265 million units in fiscal year 2018 compared to 231 million in fiscal year 2015, which was the peak iPhone 6 cycle. Ives initiates Apple at a price target of $190 to $200.

Ordering will start on Oct. 27, and they’ll begin to ship Nov. 3. The iPhone X will come in 64GB and 256GB models with pricing starting at $999.
