Analyst: in addition to the iPhone, other Mac accessories will switch from a Lightning port to USB-C

PLUGiES MagTech: USB-C to MagTech Cable

On May 11 Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted that the 2023 iPhone will ditch the Lightning port and go with a USB-C port. Now the analyst tweets that other Lightning port products (e.g., AirPods, Magic Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse, MagSafe Battery) will likely also switch to USB-C in the foreseeable future.

Why a USB-C iPhone and other accessories? Because, according to Kuo, Apple’s plans to release a completely port-less smartphone turned out to be too ambitious. He says the tech giant initially planned to release an iPhone without a charging port last year. Kuo says Apple is still testing such a product, but that no release date is in sight.
