Analyst: Apple will sell around 38 million iPhone Xr units

In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that demand for the iPhone Xr will be better than anticipated. He thinks that Apple will sell about 38 million of the smartphones.

The analyst thinks the Xr will be popular because of its large edge-to-edge display, longer battery life, dual-SIM support, and slim form factor. Kuo feels that all of the rumored manufacturing issues have been solved.

In another note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — Kuo predicts that Apple will offer a three-phone line-up next year as it has this year with the Xr, Xs, and Xs Max. And he doesn’t think the 2019 models will offer any better water resistant than the 2018 models’ IP68 water resistance.
